And the Army Marksmanship Unit offers advice and their experience on traveling with guns.

Hornady 6mm ARC

39-09-1Hornady has been defining the cutting edge for our war fighters and first responders for decades.  Following the success of the Three Hundred PRC project, Hornady has yet another home run.  It’s the 6mm ARC and it re-defines the capability of the AR-15 platform.

The Development by Hornady was in response to a request direct from the Department of Defense, as explained by Hornady Marketing Director, Neil Davies:

39-09-2“The DOD guys wanted a platform built that would give them all of the advantages of the .308 and try to get rid of some of the disadvantages, which were weight of the entire system. So they went from an AR-10 system to an AR-15 system. But they also wanted to engage targets, not just across the street or inside a room, but maybe across a valley. Well the six ARC does that.”

We are meeting up with Hornady personnel on the GA Precision private range outside Kansas 39-09-3City to test the performance of the newest chambering for the AR-15.

History’s Guns – The Smith & Wesson Victory

39-09-4During World War Two, America’s military arsenal boasted some of the best small arms in the world, with hard hitting semi auto firepower, like the 30-06 Garand and the 1911  in .45 ACP.  But in the cockpits of Mustangs and Hellcats, there was still an important role to be played by a light weight, reliable Thirty-Eight Special revolver with a patriotic name. The Smith & Wesson Victory Model is now one of History’s Guns.

USA Shooting Olympic Update

39-09-5America should be chasing Olympic gold in Tokyo in 2020.  But like lots of things, the Corona virus has put a halt to that.

The International Olympic Committee has pushed the Games back to the Summer of 2021. But that hasn’t stopped America’s shooters from getting ready to compete. It’s now a case of adjusting to peak in their performance a year later than expected.

Performance Center Enhanced M&P Shield 9 EZ

39-09-12The Performance center at Smith and Wesson has put their touches on the wildly popular M & P Shield 9-EZ, with color matched anodized aluminum trigger and grip safety. The grip safety is more prominent giving you a higher probability of activation when your initial grip might not be ideal.

The master gunsmiths at the performance center enhanced trigger action, polishing bearing surfaces to deliver exceptional reset and feel.

The barrel has been upgraded and there is now a port to help with muzzle flip in recoil. And the slide cuts lighten the reciprocating weight to make the PC 9-EZ possibly the flattest shooting 9mm on the market.

HiViz H3 Lightpipes

39-09-11They are standard on the PC 9EZ, but they are easily the simplest upgrade that an end user can do to their own gun for owners of the original Nine Shield EZ and may not have room in the budget or the gunsafe for the new Performance Center offering. HiViz has you covered with the  H3 Lightwave Sights. Lightwave means the front sight has a tritium insert that allows it to glow even in total darkness, and installation couldn’t be easier.
